I thought that the first three pagesof this essay made a great point about how dependent our society is today on advertising. I also thought that the first threepages were also very anoying in how they used to many company names in one sentence. Mr. Fox does get hispont through though that in today's society advertising is a big deal.
Just think about the clothes that some of us wear everyday. Isn't that part of advertising too? It is because we are displaying the company names to people as we walk around. It is also kinda funny that we pay money for shirts that just say Abercrombie or Hollister and then we also wear them and advertise for the company and make them even more money. Shouldn't they be paying us to advertise for them?

I wish they payed us! It is true that these companies charge so much for us to advertise for them...and it seems that the more companies charge, the more in demand their products are because we automatically think that the quality is better though this is not always true.
haha... My mom used to tell me the same thing when I was walking around with a brand name plastered across my chest. It makes absolutely no sense for us as consumers to pay for another company to advertise. Have you ever noticed that the clothing with the brand names or logos on them always cost more than those without the brand name?
I made the same point about the clothing in my blog. I used to wear that type of clothing, but now when I look back I question why I ever felt the need to pay for a companies advertising. It is smart for the company stupid for the consumer.
Great point about how we are actually paying to advertise for other people with what we are wearing! Clothing is such a big part of advertising and I think that is overlooked sometimes...
What an amazing point. Pshh, I wish I got paid for wearing specific clothing. There isn't enough money in the world for companies to pay people to advertise. That idea would be a dream.
i've thought about the clothing thing too. that's why i try to wear clothing that i don't mind advertising. but, indeed we are surrounding by adverts all the time. just look at the university. all wawa and pepsi products. you can't find a coke on campus. i think that is a little extreme.
