Meet My 5000 new best Pals

I think that this essay is absolutely right about online social networks (even though i do participate in Facebook). It is a way to meet new people, but not really meet new people. I liked when it said the part about deleting a friend. In real life when you do get mad at a friend you just can't delete them you have to fix your problem with them and get over it. In the cyber world if you get mad at someone you can just ignore them or delete them and they are gone forever.

One thing that site like Facebook and MySpace are good for is keeping in touch with friends and family that are far away. That is why it appeals to colege students so well. A lot of college students have friends scattered all over the United States and a great way of keeping in contact with them is Facebook and MySpace.

I definitely use facebook to correspond with people I don't see often but still want to keep up with them. It makes keeping up with buds easier in a lot of ways.

Maybe when you get into an argument with your best friend, just threaten them with "You're so wrong, I'm gonna delete you!"

Facebook and Myspace is a good way to keep in touch with all old friends. I know that I use Facebook to stay in touch with my friends from home.

I agree with you as to why facebook appeals to the college student. I know from personal experience, that is why I joined facebook. I am cautious as who I allow to view my page, but I definately use it as a communication for long distance friends.
